Course description

Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) typing to match patients and donors is an essential step taken to promote engraftment and reduce the risk of graft-versus-host disease following hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

The first part of this course, provides fundamental understanding of DNA and proteins; and their critical role in biological processes. The second part focusses on the role of HLA in the immune system and in transplantation.

This course will provide you with important background to further understand the GenDx products.
