Course description
This course introduces the fundamental principles of DNA sequencing. You will learn how modern sequencing technologies work, their strengths and limitations, and the differences between short-read and long-read sequencing. The course focuses on four major platforms: Illumina, Ion Torrent, Oxford Nanopore, and PacBio.
In this course you will learn:
- The basic concept of DNA sequencing
- The principles of Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS)
- How Long-Read Sequencing works and why it is important
- Key features and differences of Illumina, Ion Torrent, Oxford Nanopore, and PacBio
