You will learn how modern sequencing technologies work, their strengths and limitations, and the differences between short-read and long-read sequencing. The course focuses on four major platforms: Illumina, Ion Torrent, Oxford Nanopore, and PacBio.

In this course you will learn:

  •  The basic concept of DNA sequencing
  • The principles of Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS)
  • How Long-Read Sequencing works and why it is important
  • Key features and differences of Illumina, Ion Torrent, Oxford Nanopore, and PacBio
